Q1: What is this
character on the top page?
A1: It is the brand logo, and is read as "CATAMALY".
Q2: What is CATAMALY?
A2: "CATAＭALY" is my Silver and Leather brand which I started since 2004.
Q3: What does CATAMALY mean?
A3: Means "INGOT" in Japanese. Usually, it is written as KATAMARI, but I thought CATAMALY is nicer.
Q4: Why did you start CATAMALY?
A4: I was deeply disappointed
at Panerai OEM buckles. So, I made a sterling silver buckle as an accessory for myself
from the silver INGOT in 2002. After making one, the quality of the buckle was much better than I
expected.
That's why I thought that I should introduce my works to the Paneristi friends.
Q5: Who are you?
A5: I am just a Panerai lover/user who is disappointed about Panerai OEM buckles.
Q6: Are you a silversmith?
A6: I work for a company mainly. I am just doing CATAMALY as a hobby.
Q7: Why do you use "SOUL" to the name of your works?
A7: It's simple. I am pouring my
heart and soul into making the handcrafted buckles, straps, and etc.
Maybe my skill of making those accessories is much poorer than most of the professionals, but
I believe
my passion of making those items is unbeatable by anybody.
Q8: Seems like your buckles are numbered individually. Why is that?
A8: My works are not the mass
products and they have all different specs. So, I am recording each spec
of the buckles and customer information for aftercare. That's why I am stamping the
serial numbers on the buckles.
Q9: Why does your buckle come with the certificate of authenticity card?
A9: Buckles have to be proven that they are made by me.
Q10: Where are you located?
A10: I live in Kyoto, Japan. 5 minutes away from the Kinkaku-ji (the Golden temple). Please stop by when you have a chance. =)
Q11: How do you ship your item?
A11: Within Japan, I use
the Letter Pack
and which is 500yen.
For overseas, I use EMS Express which costs 1,200yen to the continental U.S. and
1,500yen to the
Europe, U.K.
For other locations, I'll give you the quote individually.
Q12: How do I pay for your items?
A12: I accept the bank wire
transfer(T/T) and PAYPAL(a
confirmed shipping address is required).
Please do NOT send any form of cash in an envelope. It is illegal and I take no responsibility.
Q13: Can you discount?
A13: To keep the quality of my products, I do not discount. Don't even try. I'm not making the kids' toy.
